Raw Vegan Humus Recipe 




Chickpeas

Chickpeas are a rich source of protein, manganese, iron, and fibre. They have a lovely nutty flavour.

I have taken my Raw Humus Recipe from my book The Power of Living Raw to another whole level of taste for you. 





While on your detox chick peas are a great way to Leto your protein intake up and keep you satisfied and full. 

Use this recipe to add flavor to your raw vegetables or salads. 

RAW SPROUTED HUMMUS

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried garbanzo beans or 2 cups sprouted chickpeas
  • 2 heaping tablespoons tahini
  • 2 heaping tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • juice of 2 medium lemons
  • 1/4 cup purified water, + more as needed to thin
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons coriander
  • dash or two cayenne pepper, optional
  • himalayan salt to taste
Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a blender or food processor. 
Start on low speed and gradually increase to high speed. Blend well, for 4–5 minutes until creamy 
and smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of water or olive oil. Store in a glass jar in 
the refrigerator for 3 days.

Sauerkraut ~ Plant Based Whole Food Goodness

Sauerkraut
 
The lactic acid process that naturally preserves sauerkraut is ripe with probiotic power. The good bacteria 
that are common to preserved food include Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. bulgaricus, L. plantarum, L. caret, 
L. pentoaceticus, L. brevis and L. thermophiles. There is a wide range of healthy bacteria responsible for 
these tasty ferments, so you won’t find the same good bacteria count in every batch, but what you will find 
is a product brimming with healthy probiotics that will help ensure good gut health.
1 red cabbage
2 carrots
2 tablespoons Himalayan pink salt 
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1 teaspoon dill seeds, divided
1 teaspoon black peppercorns, divided
1 bay leaf
Shred, slice or grate the cabbage and carrots and place in a large bowl.
Add the salt and toss to combine, then set aside for 30 minutes.
Knead the vegetables by pressing them down with your hands. Tip them into a mason jar, add the 
spices or any other spices you like and press down on the vegetables. Water will leach from the 
vegetables, then over time it will subside. 
If there is no water you can make a brine, to help cover the vegetables. To make the brine, bring 1⁄2 
cup water and a 1⁄2 teaspoon Himalayan salt to the boil and stir until the salt dissolves, then leave to 
cool. Pour over the vegetables, leaving 1 in (2.5 cm) of head space in each jar. Add a weight to help 
press the vegetables down Seal the jars. You will see them bubbling over the next few days.
Once a day loosen the lid to let the fermentation gases escape. Push any vegetables that have worked 
their way up the side of the jar or around the weight back down into the liquid.
As the lactic acid bacteria proliferates, the cabbage will turn into sauerkraut. Theoretically the 
cabbage is ALIVE with probiotics, and by day 4 it can be eaten. However, for best flavour leave it for 
1–3 weeks. Warmer climates speed up fermentation, while cooler temperatures slow the process. 
Refrigerating slows down the process so once ready store in the refrigerator.

Detoxification is one of the body’s most basic automatic functions of eliminating and
neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Unfortunately in
this day and age, the lifestyle majority of the world are living with pollution found in the air,
water and food people eat, our bodies have a hard time keeping up. A chemicalised diet with
too much animal protein, too much saturated and trans fats, too much caffeine and alcohol
and added stress radically alters our internal ecosystem.
Body systems and organs that were once capable of naturally cleaning out unwanted
substances are now completely over-loaded to the point where toxic material remains inside
our tissues. Our bodies try to protect us from dangerous substances by isolating and
surrounding them with mucous and fat so that they will not cause an imbalance or trigger an
immune response (some people carry this as extra weight gain which is mucous that harbors
this waste).
It is especially important for immune-compromised diseases like cancer, arthritis, diabetes
and chronic fatigue
Detoxification through special cleansing diets is the best way to assist your body’s natural
self-cleaning system. However, I have personally found even if your diet is good, a spring
cleanse can revitalize your system and rid your body of harmful bacteria, viruses and
parasites. It is a 5-Day step process that your mind and body will highly benefit from. 

It's a good idea to know what your doing while giving your body a gentle cleanse and getting your mindset on the right channel to help you through, that's why I have created my programs to help you step by step, all you have to do is follow.
