Are you a Busy Mum?

Becoming a mum comes with many rewards. It literally transforms your life. The joy you receive from feeling the  unconditional love for your child is something you feel and can not even begin to describe. Being a Mum makes you feel blessed and complete.
Your life is never the same again. You life changes.  Like  everything in life, things change, nothing stays the same. Yet change of lifestyle can be challenging for some and if you are not equipped with holistic tools and techniques,  as a busy Mum you can often find yourself out of balance.

It starts of blissful and happy. The early stages of motherhood may feel busy but it is nothing, compared to when your children grow up and become busy with their scheduled lives.
Add a working mum to the equation and boom, before you know it, your life can feel like a clutter, or on treadmill you just can't seem to get off. Always something to do, a to do list to tick off, a mouth to feed, washing to be done, bills to be paid, accounts filed, the lists goes on.

Most mum's in today's world feel tired, depleted, unworthy to put themselves first, overweight and stressed. Not all mum's feel this way and there is a common thread to the ones that feel calm, relaxed, fit, healthy, vibrant, beautiful, and energised and even a  high libido.

Becoming  out of balance through mind body and spirit can cause all sorts of symptoms such as mood swings and erratic emotions, make dis-empowering decisions, negative beliefs and self-talk that  can holds you  back. You may not even realise you are out of balance until you read something that resonates with you, then you are able to relate to those feelings and begin to become aware of where you are at with your well being and how you are living your life.
Would you like to improve the way you feel, one and for all any of the following things?
  • Totally confident and Love yourself unconditionally
  • Energised and radiant
  • Calm and relaxed
  • Increased libido
  • Slimmer and fitter
  • Evaluate consequences upfront, make wise decisions
  • Have the inner strength and power to make the right decisions that are in alignment to your true authentic self and stop trying to please everyone else and their  needs.
  • Have a clear vision for your future ad achieve your  goals?
  • Be a strong leader with excellent communication skills
  • Be completely in control of your emotions?
  • Have a positive supportive network of friends who accept you, support you, lift you to a higher standard and celebrate her achievements.
  • Live life to your full potential and learn how to make healthier choices
On my 10 week Mind and Body Transformation online program you learn all of the above. It is a holistic approach to a new you, not a quick fix diet or program you join and then go back to old habits. This way of life is the how I live and love my life and it is my passion to inspire you to take action today to live a more holistic lifestyle and one that will not cost you any extra money.

Can you relate to the feeling of 'juggling all the balls in the air' 'pleasing everyone else's needs, except your own'  'being the harmoniser in the family' 'organising everyone's schedules but your own' or  maybe running from A to B with out stopping or even eating? Have you ever felt like to the hell with it all and want to run away to a retreat and not come back.

Giving up is not an option when it comes to motherhood and for most it is only a thought that might enter the mind. However in today's fast paced and demanding world, it is time to STOP. Get off the treadmill and take some well deserved time out. You are a beautiful woman and you are worthy to do the things you really love to do. It's your turn to replenish your energy and enlighten your soul, become radiant, slimmer, healthier and live the life you desire once and for all. After all you only get one shot at living in this physical body, no second chances. Don't wait for illness, disease or old age before you can stop reflect and rest, or re- valuate your goals and direction. Do it today.

Spice up your life with a Chai Tea

Normally you will find me writing about the wonder seed 'Chia' but today I want to share the health benefits of Chai Tea, my new healing treat drink.

It has been over four years now since I gave up drinking alcohol. My journey of transition was something that evolved naturally, no force or even a fixed decision to give alcohol up forever. It just happened over time as I practiced more Yoga and meditation, and incorporating a  Raw Food lifestyle and a powerful mindset.

It is not until now I can reflect back and really acknowledge the amazing health,  well being benefits and rewards unlimited energy.

Now days I give to my body, rather than rob it of nutrients by drinking water, coconut water, herbal tea, greens juice, spirulina and now my new treat drink Chai tea.  I am unstoppable in helping the world become a healthier place and sharing health benefits to the world so you too can feel this amazing energy that becomes unlimited. I am especially passionate about helping females with 'Women's Health' I know what works and what doesn't, I also know what it is like to be a Mum and juggle all the balls in the air.

6 things you should know about CHAI.

1. Firstly CHAI is the Indian word for tea.

2. There is growing research that Chai tea has  numerous health benefits. Tea Polyphenols has been linked to increase focus and concentration. I can back this up since I have been drinking the tea, I can feel a boost in my personal focus and concentration.

3. Other health benefits linked to Tea Polyphenols, cardiovascular health, protection against Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease and may even have the potential to alter cancer genetics. The spices used in Chai tea have been used for a holistic approach to healing the internal body for thousands of years.

4.  You may be asking the question, ' but how much caffeine is in Chai compared to coffee?"
One cup of chai tea is approx 40mg caffeine - that's 4 0z of black tea compared to 120mg of caffeine in an average cup of coffee. However this is interesting to know, the caffeine in chai tea works completely different to the caffeine in coffee, due to the interaction component of tea named tannin, this is where the magic lies, tannin has the calming effect on the nervous system. Notice how warm and soothing your tummy feels when you drink a good quality chai tea! this calming effect on the nervous system causes the caffeine to be absorbed much slower and avoid the 'SHOCK' of coffee

5. My personal experience is not enough for you, it is a fact that chai is mentally clarifying and energising yet calming and soothing at the same time. Now wonder I feel like i can keep on biking when I cycle down to my local cafe for my chai tea, or get back to my office write with total concentration and clarity.

6. Chai tea gives you the 'PICK ME UP' in your day without jitters, nervousness or energy lows and highs. It gives you a ever steady energy gain.

My main Tips  on Chai Tea, after experiencing a natural brewed great quality tea leaves  and a powdered Chai is please be very careful you are not getting the powdered chai tea, it is full of sugar and processed. I am very grateful to experience the best brewed chai tea at my door step thanks to 'The Mews Cafe' where you can get gluten free food and the best quality in town! They use the best quality chai tea called Sticky chai, it is naturally soaked in honey and you will not find anything processed in this Chai. You only need to smell it to trust the quality. I personally know from smell when testing food, for sugar and any artificial additives, its something I have became very good at over the years and from my yoga, by awakening all my senses.
My other tip is when ordering make sure you understand Chai Tea you will get the Chai tea on its own, with maybe milk on the side, 'CHAI  means tea' but if you want the Chia latte, LATTE means milk, try it with soy or almond milk for a healthier option, and ask for strongly brewed to get the best out of the spices.

Mother Grain 'Quinoa'

I love this grain. Being a Raw food lover doesn't necessarily  mean you have to be 100% Raw. You can easily live a raw food lifestyle and aim to eat 80% Raw 20% cooked. That way you get to enjoy some of the other SUPER FOODS that have been around for ancient years, just like the Mother Grain 'Quinoa' pronounced 'Keen-Wah'

I am surprised daily at how many folks are still unaware for this amazing creative grain. I speak to many people in the health and fitness industry daily and I am quietly surprised at how many people have not yet  heard of 'Quinoa'
It's my job and passion to share these healing foods to the world and to you! After all nature attended us all to live a long, happy and healthy life. Right. But what went wrong? Food and nature started being tampered with. Year by year more and more processed foods were introduces, more chemicals have been used to spray and protect the harvesting of our food, more toxins pollute the air and the list goes on.

Exploring the ancient super foods excite me, because it is an easy way to get right back to nature in its wholesome natural form as much as possible. Just like the wonder seed 'chia' hence why I loved writing and creating my new cook book 'Cooking with Chia'

Think about it for a minute. These seeds and grains are organic, and have very rarely any processing or additives. They come in their most natural state and in a nutshell they can HEAL and energise your body, mind and soul.

I can write and talk about nutrition all day. I still find it hard to listen to Doctors and specialist, nutritionist who are heavily over weight, or even under weight, and don't radiate inner health and try to preach health and nutrition when it is simple the proof is in the pudding. Being healthy shows. Its something you feel from within. Your energy is high and you can go and go all day like a ever ready battery.
My wish is everyone in the world can feel this way, and all live a long healthy happy life.
So this week I am sharing the 'Mother Grain' Quinoa. I personally love the Certified RED Quinoa.
It comes in many different colors, but the red is a great contrast in salads and cereals. There is so much you can do with this grain. I use it a lot in my chia recipes and makes a healthy high protein meal or snack.
It has a nutty and delicous taste and . It’s also pretty good on iron and fibre, which gets the nutritionists excited.

 Quinoa

1. Wash the grain before use
2. It looks like a grain but is actually a SEED!
3. It has an intersting taste and texture, I love the chewy texture and
4 I recently spent time in LA with my cousin Sussie from Peru and learnt from her the Grain that is commonly used in Peru for many years is best soaked and then cooked unitl the seed opens to reap the full health benefits. I see many cafes using quinoa these days but the seed has not been cooked long enough and is quite closed
5. It has become more readily available just like our wonder seed CHIA.
6 Use it in breads, crispbreads, cereals, desserts, stews, quiche and salads
7. Great for vegetarians and gluten free lovers

I love Quinoa and always have a bowl ready in my fridge for those quick and easy recipes.

Raw Zucchini Crisp Bread

Raw Zucchini Crisp Bread

1 Cup almonds
1 cup of mixed sunflower and pumpkin seeds
2 Tbsp Chia seeds
1 large zucchini grated
1 Tbsp cold pressed olive oil
pinch sea salt
1 tspn cumin
1 tspn oregano

Method

Process all nuts until fine. Add all other ingredients. The moisture from the zucchini makes the mixture very moist and workable to spread out on the baking paper. Once processed together, place mixture on a tray lined with baking paper, I normally like to press it out with my hands, or you can roll it out by using another sheet of baking paper on tip and rolling pin.

Dehydrate or if you do not have a dehydrator bake on a low heat for 20 mins, or you can heat up your oven hot, place the tray in the oven with your mixture, and then turn oven off and allow it to dehydrate over night.

Serve with fresh home made humus, or spread avocado on top. A great gluten free, dairy free snack, that will energise your body and calm your soul.

Enjoy!

Happy and healthy Raw  cooking
